In the news!

One of my hobbies is dressing in lolita. Its just a part-time, casual thing; no over the top lolita for me.
Although I wouldn't mind taking a stab at it one day.

So, of course I had to join the local lolita group, headed by my good friend Ashley. She also organizes most of the local meets. I've gone to a couple already and always had a blast. Heres a picture from the first meet.
I am in the bodyline antique clocks dress. And yes, we always enjoy cheesecake at our meetups.

This time around, we went to a local art and craft fair, where my friend Stacy from Toxic Blossom had set up camp (If you're ever in the Halifax area, you should check her out!). I got some awesome earrings and cute cell phone charms. There we met up with someone from our local news paper, The Coast! I always enjoyed picking up a copy and hearing about positive local news. They interviewed Ashley and Stacy while the rest of us enjoyed the awesome craft fair.

After taking in everything the vendors had to offer, we headed over to Sweet Hereafter, our local cheesecake spot as we usually do.

Just a sampling of what they have to offer; This is the bacon maple cheesecake, which they happened to bring out right after I ordered my keylime cheesecake (which was also delicious) I wanna try the bacon one, for sure!

Anyway, the photographer for The Coast met us when we went to get cheesecake. She got some really great shots, and the one that I personally liked ended up in the news!

My attempt at an artistic shot

It was a very flattering article! Often times when lolitas end up in the news, they don't put such a positive spin on things. But this was great. Ashley told me the reporter asked if it was a sexual thing, and I think we were all afraid that they were going to try and focus on that. But it was an awesome and flattering. You can read it at The Coasts website, here.

I'm also happy that we're in the special pride week edition! This was an exciting experience, and I know all my lolita gal pals and I are going to remember it forever!
